The edition of EIGA MONOGATARI inserted on JHTI is taken from the Nihon Koten Bungaku Taikei (Compendium of Japanese Classical Literary Works) published by Iwanami Publishing Company in 1964. An electronically reproduced edition of this text is included in the Nihon Koten Bungaku Sakuhin Database (Database of Japanese Classical Literary Works, vols. 75-76) held by the National Institute of Japanese Literature in Tokyo, Japan.

The English translation of the EIGA MONOGATARI inserted on JHTI is A Tale of Flowering Fortunes: Annals of Japanese Aristocratic Life in the Heian Period, translated by William H. and Helen Craig McCullough (Stanford University Press, 1980).
