Map of Shrines throughout Japan

These maps indicate the distribution of Imperial shrines throughout Japan and in each prefecture.

Map 1 : shows the distribution of shrines throughout Japan.

Map 2 : shows prefectures with more shrines and fewer shrines. Prefectures with 0 to 31 shrines are shown in white; prefectures with 31 to 259 shrines are shown in grey.

Map 3 : shows prefectures with more shrines and fewer shrines. Prefectures that have less than half of the maximum number of shrines (259) and more than that number are distinguished by the colors, white and grey.

Map 4 : shows the number of shrines in 5 gradations of the colors between white and grey.
